Manchester United Manager, Erik ten Hag, has been SACKED by the Club on October 28

Manchester United’s management has been terribly resulted facing the worst place in the table during the last century. Despite initial support from United’s management over the summer, the team’s recent form has left them in a concerning 14th place in the Premier League, and they’ve struggled with consistent performances.

Erik ten Hag’s recent managerial performance at Manchester United has been mixed, reflecting some promising achievements as well as ongoing challenges. In his second season (2023-24), despite an FA Cup win against Manchester City, United faced a challenging Premier League season, finishing in an uncharacteristically low eighth position. This placed additional scrutiny on Ten Hag’s tactics, especially considering the defensive and consistency issues that plagued the team.

In the current 2024-25 season, Ten Hag has struggled with frequent injuries to key players, affecting squad depth and performance. Despite a promising start to his tenure with wins in early matches and having brought young talents like Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund into the spotlight, the team’s form has been inconsistent. As a result, Ten Hag has had to continually adjust his lineup, which has impacted United’s stability in performances.

Without winning a single win in the Europa League, Ten Hag kept promising and saying that the team is in a well form and told the fans to keep believing in the team and players. However, after the lost result match with West Ham (2-1) Man UTD, the club finally sack Ten Hag out of the tam.

The official statement is as follow:

Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future. Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited.

Potential candidates linked to the position include former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who is a strong favorite among bookmakers. Ruud van Nistelrooy, United’s assistant manager and former club striker, is also in consideration, possibly as an interim solution. Gareth Southgate, the England national team manager, is admired by United’s co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, though his appointment would be met with mixed reactions from the fanbase due to his conservative style.

This decision is sparking considerable attention as he brings fresh perspective but limited managerial experience at the Premier League level. The club is now actively searching for a permanent successor, with names like former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being speculated as possible options to provide stability until a long-term manager is confirmed.
